ACG provides a wide range of educational programs focusing on
clinically oriented topics for the GI professional. The following
describes the College’s online educational resources, national
and regional meetings, and other CME-accredited courses.

The newest educational offering from ACG, the ACG
Education Universe is an online, self-directed CME program that
provides a way for all gastroenterologists to access outstanding
tools in preparing for the GI boards, recertification, or obtaining
necessary CME credits outside of the ACG meetings.
Users can choose what they want to learn about, the format of
the information, and how much time they want to devote to learning
at any given point. A wide variety of education materials including
lectures, journal articles, self-assessment test questions and
more will allow the user to define the specific parameters for
study to meet his or her needs and interest. The system will also
track how much CME users earn and can print certificates or a statement
of CME credits completed. ACG members can obtain CME credit at
reduced rates.

ACG’s companion resource to the Postgraduate Course is now
available online. This popular resource contains more than 300
questions. Questions are in single best answer or true/false format
and many include photographs and illustrations along with detailed
answers and annotated references. This resource provides a valuable
review for graduating fellows taking their GI Boards as well as
established practitioners looking for a broad clinical update.

Taught by leading clinicians, ACG’s Recertification Course
is designed to help GI physicians prepare for the board recertification
process. A top-notch faculty is assembled to offer a four-hour
program on Friday evening at the Annual Scientific Meeting. These
GI experts review some of the types of questions and scientific
rationale you will need to be prepared to answer and be successful
in specific recertification component areas.

ACG sponsors regional meetings throughout the country, which provide
members an opportunity to interact with local and visiting faculty
on an intimate scale. Developed by the ACG Board of Governors in
cooperation with the ACG Educational Affairs Committee, these meetings
enable members to hear experts discuss recent research and practice
methods near where they live and practice.

Saturday with GI Experts / An Evening with GI Experts
An ACG educational series
Saturday with GI Experts / An Evening with GI Experts, an ACG educational series, is comprised of courses that were offered throughout the United States in 2007 and 2008. Course Co-Directors and additional expert faculty developed up to 10 modules consisting of specific disease state information as well as modules relating to issues of practice management. During 2008, the courses were offered as live events as well as Webcast sessions. The courses are available for viewing and for CME credit at ACG Education Universe, www.acgcmeuniverse.org. See below for more information about the Universe.

Periodically, ACG endorses non-ACG educational programs. These
programs are reviewed by ACG for their content. Upon approval by
ACG, the College endorses the meeting and will include information
on this website. ACG does not provide the CME for the endorsed
courses. To determine if CME is being offered at any of these programs,
please contact the course director.
See the course calendar above right to view upcoming ACG endorsed courses.
