Is it normal spring allergies or something more serious?
Acid Reflux Disease Often Masquerades as Asthma, Ear/Nose/Throat Problems.
Springtime means budding trees and blooming flowers for some. For others,
it translates into increased asthma attacks and ear, nose and throat problems.
While most people will find relief with the appropriate medications, others
will have a harder time being diagnosed because their problem is not what
it appears to be. An illness called gastroesophageal reflux disease
(also known as GERD or acid reflux) frequently masquerades as asthma,
chronic cough and other ear, nose and throat ailments.

Is it the barbecued ribs and hot dogs
or something more serious?
Summer Ball Games and Cookouts Can Raise the Heartburn Meter.
For the 15 million Americans suffering from daily heartburn, a summer cookout or hot dogs
at the ball park can lead to pain and discomfort. And while many of these people will
indulge in their favorite foods anyway, they often regret it in the middle of the night
when heartburn keeps them from sleep.

Is it just a little heartburn or
something more serious? National Public Information and
Education Program Launched.
Research has shown that as many as
19 million Americans may be suffering from a serious digestive disease
known as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), but they are not
aware of its potential dangers or effective treatment options. The
American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) launched a multi-year
public education program this month with a national advertising
campaign to increase awareness of GERD, a chronic digestive
condition.
